Tersi Advocacia is an International Tax Law Firm. We focus on the Brazilian aspects of wealth and income planning for families, professionals, and entrepreneurs who live or wish to live abroad, or who want to start a business in another country.
At times, our work requires collaboration with professionals in other countries to develop a comprehensive solution, or at least to harmonize the application of Brazilian rules with those of another country.
Currently, Tersi Advocacia works alongside qualified professionals in several countries to provide international tax planning services. The items below summarize Tersi Advocacia’s current engagement with the legal systems of other countries. Naturally, our long-term goal is to expand partnerships with other professionals so we can offer increasingly comprehensive services.
Germany
Tax advisory for Germany: we maintain a cooperation with professionals qualified to handle German tax law, for individuals and companies that have, or plan to have, assets in Germany.
In this case, the engagement of German Desk professionals is handled directly through our firm.
United States
Tax advisory for the United States: for matters involving the United States, we have experience and knowledge of American rules to anticipate the main challenges and opportunities in light of Brazilian legislation and, if necessary, refer a local professional.
In this case, the local professional is responsible for the American aspects, while Tersi Advocacia assists with coordinating the work and handling the Brazilian aspects.
Portugal
Tax advisory for Portugal: for matters involving Portugal, similar to the United States, we have experience and knowledge of Portuguese rules to anticipate the main challenges and opportunities in light of Brazilian legislation and, if necessary, refer a professional in Portugal.
In this case, the local professional is responsible for the Portuguese aspects, while Tersi Advocacia assists with coordinating the work and handling the Brazilian aspects.
Other Jurisdictions
For other jurisdictions, such as Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and others, we do not currently maintain active
partnerships with professionals in these countries.
In these cases, we analyze the relationship between Brazil and the other country, particularly the existence of double taxation treaties, and provide guidance on the key points to be discussed with a local professional.
When our client is already served by a local professional, we can collaborate with that professional to develop a joint solution or determine the best way to harmonize the application of both countries’ legislation.
