Good afternoon Vinícius, congratulations, what an enlightening article, thank you very much for sharing.

I'm a non-resident who has already left the country permanently, but I have rental income in Brazil, I did my studies on my way out, I appointed an attorney-in-fact, and he collects the DARF on my behalf. I'm in doubt about the DIRF, under amount paid do I put the amount I receive in rent (but with deductions), or does it have to be the gross amount? Are my tenants also obliged to file a DIRF?

    Thank you in advance

Vinicius, in cases where a legal landlord withholds the 15% tax, is that legal entity obliged to pay the DARF on the same day as well? Or does it usually have until the end of the following month to pay?

I have the same question as Leandro. To me, it makes more sense for the tenant himself to provide information on the DIRF because only he can tell me the date of payment, whether there was a fine for late payment and everything else. He is the only individual or legal entity who can provide data to be cross-referenced with the information on his DARF.

    Hi Vinicius,
Thanks for the text! Vinicius, in the case of the legal entity tenant paying the tax. Is he also obliged to pay on the same day that he pays for the property?

Hi Vinicius, thank you so much for the post, it helped clarify a lot.
I left Brazil in Sep/20 and only started working in Dec/21. Can I consider my departure as Sept/22, considering that I had been on temporary leave for a year?
Another thing, my husband doesn't want to leave the country for good yet for fear of losing his bank account, is there any problem with us having different residences?
He thinks I need to leave because I've changed my title. Can you tell me if the tax office matches the information with the electoral system?
    Thank you in advance!

    Good morning, Vinicius,
First of all, thanks for your help! I have a problem, I left Brazil in 2001, I never made a declaration of leaving the country! I don't intend to return to Brazil, and I received a donation from my father! He wanted to transfer the value of the donation to my bank in Germany, but his bank asked him for the tax regulation for resident abroad! I don't know what I should do, because I can no longer make this declaration of departure, my CPF is regular! Thank you if you can help me with this!

    Good morning, Dr. Tersi,
I'm not resident in Brazil and I've declared that I've left the country. Now I've received a donation from my father, who wanted to send me the money abroad, but they're charging me an absurd amount of income tax! How can I receive this donation without paying income tax? (I read that this law is unconstitutional) My other sisters live in Brazil and haven't had to pay any tax!
